ABOUT ECU 2009

The Swedish conference, Energy Crossroads Uppsala 2009, was held the 19th of February 2009 in Uppsala, Sweden. The main purpose was to increase motivation among students in working with sustainable energy. The conference consisted of key note speakers (such as Ola AlterŒ, State Secretary to the Swedish Minister of Enterprise and Energy Maud Olofsson), a panel discussion (with delegates such as Hans von Uthmann, Vice President of Swedish energy giant Vattenfall, Martina KrŸger, energy expert Greenpeace Sweden and Mats Leijon, professor and cleantech entrepreneur), an energy fair and several workshops. Two of the workshops created output around the realities and possibilies with sustainable energy from a Swedish perspective and the results has been forwarded to Energy Crossroads Global

ABOUT EC SWEDEN

The team behind the Swedish chapter is a diverse mix of eight students (four civil engineers in energy systems, two environmental economists, one law student, one human resource) all with the common mindset that a sustainable energy providing is the key to a secure and prosperous future. The ECU 2009 project has been running since May 2008 and the full team has been working together from late September. We constantly get very positive feedback from students, teachers, politicians and company people of Uppsala and we are sure that the Energy Crossroads Uppsala chapter will grow and live on for a long time to come.
